The children’s ministry at New Union Baptist exists to partner with parents in raising kids that recognize their need for a Savior in Jesus Christ. Our goal is to walk with families and assist them in laying the spiritual foundation of a lifelong relationship with Jesus. The goal of Kidventure revolves around the idea of making Jesus the Hero in all that we do and say.

We will accomplish by:

1.Boldly proclaiming the love and word of God to children and their families (2 Timothy 4:1-3)

2.Teaching children that God is a BIG God and He loves them dearly (Ephesians 3:17-19)

3.Teaching children that God has a plan for their life (Jeremiah 29:11)

4.Leading children to follow Christ (Luke 9:23)

5.Demonstrating and modeling a deep walk with Christ (Ephesians 4:1)

6.Challenging the kids to evangelize their friends (Matthew 28:19-20)

7.Developing Godly character in their lives (Galatians 5:22)

8.Providing opportunities to worship in a relevant way (Psalm 29:2)

The ministry of Awana in Kidventure at New Union Baptist provides kids the opportunity to learn God’s Word through Scripture memorization, Bible study and Games. The focus is Jesus Christ through His Word and play. Each week the kids are rewarded for reciting verses from their handbook, engaged in games to build teamwork and let off some of the wondrous energy they all have, and challenged through the teaching of the Bible to know God intimately, serve Him passionately and be all that they were created to be. Every child is precious to God and we take that very seriously.

Though Awana starts on August 15th, your child may join us at any time during the school year. We recognize that family situations arise that do not allow your child to attend every week. Do not let this circumstance keep them from coming when life permits.

Your kids are taught by dedicated teachers who love God and desire to share His Word so their faith in Jesus will last a lifetime. We use Discipleland and Journey through the Bible for our curriculum. This curriculum provides kids with the opportunity to go through the entire Bible three times before they become teens.

High energy worship that makes Jesus the Hero and relevant to kids’ lives. Object lessons, games and dramas are used to explain Biblical truths that kids will remember.
